Introduction to Computers with Windows 11 Target Audience: Beginners with little to no experience using computers. ________________________________________ Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will: • Understand the basic components and functions of a computer. • Navigate and perform essential tasks in Windows 11. • Gain confidence using common Windows 11 features and applications. ________________________________________ Class Outline 1. Welcome and Introduction • Introduction and course overview • Understanding participants’ goals • Brief discussion: What is a computer and its purpose? ________________________________________ 2. Basics of Computer Hardware and Software • Hardware Overview: o Components: Monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, and peripherals o Brief explanation of internal parts: RAM, hard drive, processor • Software Basics: o What is an operating system? o Examples of software programs o Overview of Windows 11 Activity: Identifying hardware components in the classroom or using visuals. ________________________________________ 3. Navigating Windows 11 • Getting Started: o Turning on the computer and logging in o Overview of the desktop, Start menu, and taskbar • Using the Mouse and Keyboard: o Left-click, right-click, and double-click o Basic keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Alt+Tab) • Understanding Windows Elements: o File Explorer: Folders, files, and drives o Windows and apps: Opening, resizing, and closing Activity: Hands-on navigation practice with guided tasks. ________________________________________ 4.
